Hello and welcome!  I grew up on the Gulf waters of Terra Ceia Bay and live on Boston’s North Shore.  I obtained a bachelors degree in urban and regional planning. After 5 successful years in professional community planning I pursued a career in interior design, participating in Rhode Island School of Design's (RISD) interior design certificate program.

While in New England, I worked with a design firm specializing in national resort, private club, restaurant and high-end residential clientele. In 2005 a move back to Florida sparked the opportunity to start my own firm. I founded Anne Nelson Design, offering high-end residential interior decorating and design services to clients on Florida's gulf coast.

In a short time, I was featured in both SRQ and Sarasota Magazine and rapidly gained a reputation as one of Florida's best young interior decorators, working on premier properties in Tampa Bay on Longboat Key and Anna Maria Island.  In the Spring of 2009 a move back to Massachusetts sparked the opportunity to service clients in metro Boston and New England.

I live with my husband Jim and son Thomas, love to travel and (when time permits!) relax on the beach.

I offer a full range of interior decorating and design services for clients throughout New England and in Florida.  I would love to talk to you about your next project. 

My approach is different and there are a number of ways we can work together. 

The first step, a site visit.

Whenever possible, before starting a job, I visit the site and meet with clients to get a clear understanding of their needs, ideas and expectations.  There is never a charge for this meeting, it is meant to simply introduce ourselves and discuss the work to be done.

This casual meeting ensures there is a good fit between client and designer and helps to set the stage for the work at hand.  For projects at a distance, emailing photos and a few phone calls can serve the same purpose.

Sessions at the Boston Design Center – A day at the Boston Design Center with me is a concentrated 6 hours that starts with a review of your goals over coffee and gives you access to the finest trade materials in the world with professional guidance. 

“Curtain Call” – Window treatments made easy.  No design fees apply.  We start with a site visit to measure and review your needs and I design and coordinate installation.  Blinds, draperies, curtains, shades and shutters.
